TOT president Anont Tubtiang said yesterday that the agency was preparing software-development tools for the project, which could kick off early in the year.
Software developers can inform TOT of their interest in joining the project at the TOT Pavilion at the BOI Fair 2011, which will be held from January 5 to 20 at Muang Thong Thani.
TOT will also give away a certain number of its 3G SIM cards at the fair.
Anont said he hoped TOT and Advanced Info Service could sign this week a deal that will see TOT renting AIS network facilities to install TOT’s 3G network equipment on a certain number of AIS facilities on a co-site basis. The state agency is waiting for its 3G steering business committee to approve the draft contract.
The co-site deal with AIS will enable TOT to set up its 3G network faster.
Anont added that besides AIS, TOT was in talks with TrueMove on a similar possible deal to install TOT’s 3G network equipment on TrueMove’s network facilities.
