Pramoth Sudjitporn, president of Asiasoft Corporation, said the Philippine branch office would be under the supervision of the online-game firm’s office in Singapore. The move follows the opening last year of a branch office in Indonesia. Asiasoft has spent Bt280 million to take over CIB Development, the No 1 online-game provider in Malaysia.
“The firm’s direction this year is focused on the international market. It now has branch offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Our business in the international market is seeing continuous growth and a strong business base,” Pramoth said.
This year, the firm will continue to provide four types of game: massively multi-player online role-playing games (MMORPG), casual games, first-person shooter (FPS) games and Web games. Its major source of revenue is MMORPG and casual games.
It plans to provide a free-to-play game that allows people to use any device or operating system, and will deliver 13 new games in the domestic market and 16 for the international market. Asiasoft has 33 game support customers in both the domestic and international markets. About 90 per cent of its game titles come from Korea.
Pramoth said the company this year expected revenue to increase by about 25 per cent from 2011. Some 60 per cent of revenue will come from the domestic market. The firm last year saw its revenue increase by about 11 per cent from 2010. The firm does not immediately disclose its revenue since it does not report to the stock market. It had revenue in 2010 of Bt1.5 billion.
The game market in Thailand this year is expected to worth about Bt3.3 billion.
