Laptops boost sale at Commart

Commart Thailand 2012 generated transactions worth over Bt3.2 billion during the 4-day event, thanks mainly to notebook computer, according to the organiser ARiP Plc.



Pathom Indarodom, general manager of the cmopany, said that the notebook computer, including the ultrabooks, generated sale of Bt1.8 billion. The other best-selling items are tablets and smartphones.
 "The overall picture shows clear improvement. The IT market last year was quiet with economic problems and the flood disaster, but the situation improved and it should be better in the second quarter. This should allow the IT industry to witness a 12 per cent growth rate as expected," he said.
 During the event which closed on March 25, vendors sold 53,966 laptops. Tablet sale also hit 14,000 units, or five times from last year's event, led by Samsung, Apple and Toshiba brands.
