Gold futures brokers seek service upgrade

Three gold futures brokerage houses have applied for an upgrade, to extend the coverage of its brokering service beyond precious metals, according to Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX).
They are Ausiris Futures Co Ltd, GT Wealth Managemnet Co Ltd and Huasengheng Gold Futures Co Ltd.
Kesara Manchusree, the exchange's president, believes that other gold futures brokers are preparing to make the same move.
"TFEX and the clearing house are working on the clearing system and preparing the three companies' staff. A test run will be scheduled soon to ensure smooth operations," she said.
TFEX is also inviting applications for trading members, to boost liquidity in the futures exchange in the long term. These members can only undertake proprietary trading. Kesara said that some banks and companies in general have expressed interest to apply for the permission.
