THAI operates new Boeing 747-400 freighter
Thai Airways International (THAI) is ready to provide air cargo and commercial mail service on its Boeing 747-400 freighter aircraft, from April 12 onwards.
This service will strengthen the quality of its air cargo services operated to and from Asia, Europe, and Australia, as well as 9 other cities such as Taipei, Tokyo, Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Sydney, and Bangkok.
Pichai Chunganuwad, THAI Managing Director, Cargo & Mail Commercial Department, said that the retrofit of THAI’s two Boeing 747-400 aircraft into freighters were conducted by Boeing and the aircraft is equipped to carry 100 tonnes of cargo per flight. The retrofit on the first aircraft is now completed.
The company also operates chartered flights for customers importing or exporting at high cargo volumes to the final destination, Pichai said.
