The hospital targets serving 12 per cent more patients this year.
Chief executive officer Chalermkul Apibunyopas said the overall hospital industry had been growing by 8-10 per cent per annum, driven by people’s higher purchasing power, the government’s minimum-wage initiative, and huge investments by major hospitals.
REACHING OUT
Thonburi Hospital will strengthen its brand by communicating with target customers, advising them of its capabilities led by a professional medical |team and modern equipment at costs lower than those of major hospitals.
Moreover, the hospital will search for medical specialists and modern medical tools before the AEC takes effect in 2015, which will result in more intense competition through the mobility of medical skills.
It plans to merge with another hospital that has its own customer base.
As a result of this and other measures, Thonburi Hospital aims to improve its financial results over last year’s by 10-12 per cent.
Chalermkul said Thonburi Hospital would this year open an intensive-care unit for patients of its Neuroscience Centre, an osteoporosis clinic and a physical-therapy centre for sports-medicine patients.
