In a statement, Egco President Sahust Pratuknukul said that the shareholder agreement was signed on May 15 for the acquisition. Under the agreement, Egco comes up with the equity investment of Bt65 million.
Commencing operation in October 2011, the biodiesel plant, located in Rojana Industrial Park in Rayong, has the total capacity of 300,000 litres per day or 100,000 tonnes a year. The project costs totally Bt275.5 million.
Sahust stated that this investment was Egco's first step in bio diesel business. It was not only in line with Egco's strategic plan to expand its business towards the integrated energy business, but also met the government policy to promote the use of bio diesel as alternative fuel to enhance the stability of domestic fuel supply in the long run.
