The Neo Life Co is interested in developing a boutique hotel in 2013-2014 after the opening of its latest hostel, Siam Art Hostel, in April this year.

The company’s managing director, Chatri Asawaratanaporn, said the group has been investing in the hospitality business since 2005 by focusing on boutique hotels, aiming to have designs that would inspire visitors and give them a new experience when they visit its hotel.
The first project – Thong Tara Hotel – is located on Charoenkrung Road, followed by a serviced apartment, Neo Aree, on Sukhumvit soi 26. The latest is Silom Art Hostel, which has got positive feedback from backpack customers who like the new experience and the reasonable price.
“We see strong demand for boutique hotels that offer a different design and service to customers,” he said.
He added that most of the customers spend a majority of their time travelling and are in the hostel for only a short time. The hostel also offers a reasonable price.
Although the market growth is now slack because of Europe’s economic crisis, with the occupancy rate lower than 70 per cent, the company believes that demand will recover soon. The company aims to expand new investments in hostels next year or in 2014, he said.
He added that after the grand opening of Siam Art Hostel on April, it got a positive feedback from customers because the design is inspired by Bangkok’s history.
The interior uses recycled products such as cans, steel, wood, etc. This is part of the idea to be environmentally friendly. “We believe that customers who visit Siam Art Hostel will get a new experience when visiting this hostel,” he said.
