CAT-True deal violates law: NBTC sub-committee

A sub-committee of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) ruled the deal of CAT Telecom and True Move was in violation of the Frequency Allocation Act's Article 46

Chairing the sub-committee to consider the 3G deal, Chairuek Ditta-amnart said that the resolution was reached on June 6 and it would be forwarded to the NBTC within this week. He expects the board to convene and announce the ruling next week.

"For today, all I can say is the matter is resolved. The consideration is not postponed. Yet, more explanation would come from the NBTC's secretary general," he said.

A source said that the sub-committee suggested CAT Telecom and True Move to amend the contracts in 7 areas.
