EGCO Group completes Quezon power acquisition

EGCO Group has completed the acquisition of a 45.8 per cent interest in the Quezon Power Project in the Philippines from the Inter-Gen Group on June 11, 2012.

EGCO Group now owns 98 per cent of the project and is the manager and operator of the Quezon Power Plan, it said in a statement.
The Quezon Power Project is comprised of a 503MW (Gross) coal-fired electric generating power plant and a 31-kilometer transmission line located in Quezon Province on the Island of Luzon, Philippines. The plant commenced commercial operations in May of 2000 and sells its output under 25year power sales agreement with the Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
