Yesterday, MCOT revealed its upcoming TV schedule which begins next month. Two programmes are created to replace the two produced by Nation Broadcasting Corporation (NBC),
MCOT Acting president Premkamon Tinnakorn Na Ayutthaya said that a Thai News Agency (TNA) team would take over responsibility for news-and-entertainment-programme production for Modernine TV and to extend its production and broadcasting hours to 24 hours a day to cover all target audience.
The move will allow Modernine TV to devote 56 per cent of total available time slots to own news programming, from 42 per cent now. It projects a 5-to-8-per-cent increase in revenue. The company also expects improvements in its rating, Premkamon said, adding that the TNA had a highly experienced and professional news crew with over 400 in number.
The new highlights include “Kui Khamong Khao Chao", a two-hour morning news talk show hosted by in-house anchors. This programme will replace “Chao Khao Khon Kon Khao Chao.” NBC's evening news talk show “Khao Khon Kon Khao” will be replaced by “Klook Wong Khao” which is also hosted by in-house news anchors.
Jom Petchpradup, currently a TV host of “Hot Topic” talk show on satellite-based Voice TV, will also join the channel. Before joining Voice TV, he worked as a reporter at ITV. After the coup, he was forced out as his interview of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was against the channel's policy.
