Saran Rangkasiri, senior executive vice president of PTT, said that this is in line with the government's policy to support locally-produced alternative energy. However, so far, demand for E20 has been low as some owners of E20-compatible vehicles also opt for other alternative fuel.
As a start, PTT today hosted a test drive for the press, to prove the efficiency of E20 against gasohol 95.
"Actually, the efficiency of PTT's E20 formula is not inferior to other types of fuel in terms of efficiency, thanks to the high octane. It's true that the burning level is higher but only slightly. Compared to gasohol 95, the burning level is only 2.53 per cent higher than that of gasohol 95. This is against the fact that E20 is Bt3.65 per litre cheaper than gasohol 95 price (based on June 25 prices). Despite higher burning level, E20 is 10.3 per cent cheaper," he said.
