Esso plans more "Toy Libraries"

Toys are essential in enhancing creativity among children, but it is unfortunate that not all children can enjoy toys.

The Population and Community Development Association (PDA) for years have introduced "Toy Library", where toys procured by private companies' financial supports are available for kids particularly in remote areas. Each school will assign a committee comprising students between 8 and 14 years of age to manage the Village Toy Library. In return for community services such as plant cultivation or helping with school maintenance activities, students may borrow toys from the village toy library. The students’ activities are recorded and acknowledged by their parents in a “Good deeds I did today” booklet.
Esso (Thailand) is one of supporters in this regard. Recently, Mongkolnimit Auacherdkul, director and manager of Public and Government Affairs, presented Bt200,000 cheque to the PDA to improve 12 existing Toy Libraries nationwide. Esso and PDA plan to deliver more toy libraries in other provinces such as Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Sa Kaew, Chainat, Nan, Prachuab Khiri khan and Ratchaburi provinces.
