The July inflation showed a growth rate of 2.73 per cent, up by 0.35 per cent from the previous month. The ministry attributed the increase to higher food and fuel prices.
Commerce Permanent Secretary Yanyong Phuangrach said the inflation has risen in a stabilised manner and this should ensure that the annualised level would not exceed the target of 3.33.8 per cent.
In July, core inflation rose 1.87 percent year on year and up slightly by 0.03 percent from June’s figure. Core inflation in the first seven months was up 2.3 per cent year on year, well within the Bank of Thailand’s projection at 0.53 per cent.
