Oil Fund's levy is cut

The Energy Policy Administrative Committee today agreed to lower the Oil Fund's levy on gasohol products by 50 satang per litre, to boost alternative energy consumption.

The Oil Fund's levy on diesel will also be cut by 30 satang per litre, to keep retail diesel prices below Bt30 per litre. The 50-satang cut is applied to all types of gasohol products.
Energy Minister Arak Chonlatanon, who chaired the committee, said that the decision would reduce daily inflows to the Oil Fund by Bt31 million, to Bt9 million.
