The NACC yesterday revealed that Suphadej and five other directors of Airports of Thailand, which operates Suvarnabhumi Airport, travelled to San Francisco on a trip paid for by Invision Technologies, which supplied CTX bomb scanner to the airport.
In a statement, Suphadej said that his lawyer today submitted the written explanation to NACC member Vichai Vivitsevi, who chairs the subcommittee investigating the scandal.
"I flatly deny this accusation. I insist that I did not go to San Francisco with other AOT directors. NACC can trace my travelling records and the immigration records would prove this," he said.
He also said that he did not attend the AOT's board meeting when the board decided to buy CTX machine from Invision Technologies. This can be supported by the meeting minutes, he said.
"I beg NACC, as part of the justice system, to review and verify facts as well as be careful in commenting on anything which could harm others' reputation. As a person affected, I have every right to legally defend the reputation of myself and my family," he said.
