The network reported that the energy consumed for the production of each catalogue during 20112012 fell by 8 per cent from 2,960kilowatt to 2,720 kilowatt. Meanwhile, CO2 emission was cut from 0.49 kg to 0.43kg. Totally, it cut down CO2 emission by 7,000 tonnes.

Partnering on “Farmer’s School”
Thailand produces 20 million tonnes of rice per annum and half of that is exported to the world. Yet, Thai farmers are living a difficult life, due to low research and development budget to increase production yields.
Kasetsart University has launched a “Farmers’ School on Rice Productivity Improvement Project.” One of the partners is Bayer Thai Co Ltd.
Under the collaboration Bayer CropScience Business of Bayer Thai has joined a 200rai demonstration rice plot in Farmer’s School in order to show how crop protection products should be safe and effective used. Besides the demonstration rice plot, the experts have planned to organise a training course to share their knowledge and technical experience in using agrochemicals which farmers in the school have to concern such as type of chemical in relation to pests; application rate and time of application.
The MoU signing ceremony was organised to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s 80th birthday at Farmer’s School, Kasetsart University Kamphaeng Saen Campus, NakhonPathom province together with the Rice Department.

Reaching out to disadvantaged kids
The next generation of young people should have the same or greater access to sports than the generation before them regardless of their social or economic situation.
That is the agenda of Global sport brand, adidas. Serving this agenda was recent donation of sports equipment worth Bt100,000 to impoverished communities in Bangkok.
The donation was presented during the “Chelsea Youth Football Clinic” – a soccer training course open exclusively to 150 children, including 30 special quota places for underprivileged children, to learn with Chelsea Football Club staff coaches.
