Philips launches well-being project

Philips Electronics (Thailand) has launched "The '+' Project" targeted at identifying and addressing day-to-day challenges faced by Thais.

Three topical domains will be implemented – access to healthcare, liveable cities, and healthy living.
The company also plans a series of marketing activities this quarter to celebrate its 60th anniversary in Thailand next Monday.
Each winning idea was chosen from more than 400 submitted to The ‘+’ Project, a platform that enabled people to share their ideas and collaborate to improve the health and well-being of people and communities across the country.
Since the winning ideas were selected in July by a mix of public voting and a jury of Philips executives and external experts, Philips teams have been working with communities and stakeholders to realise each project, Viroj Vithayaveroj, chairman and managing director, said yesterday.
Philips is also providing free mobile health checks for senior citizens, aimed at helping to prevent disease and providing essential health services to those most in need.
The programme, which has been designed in cooperation with the Population Development Association, will visit six communities around Bangkok to assess the needs of the ageing population and administer health-promotion and wellness programmes through giving healthcare advice.
The final project to be launched integrates Philips’ health and technology expertise by way of an app that can alert users to health issues as they go about their daily business.
