Shares rise despite profit-taking

Stock Exchange of Thailand on Wednesday edged up to close slightly below 1,300 points, despite foreign sell-offs.

Foreign investors today were net-buyers, with their sells exceeding purchases by Bt313 million. Throughout October, their net-sells topped Bt17.9 billion, which brought down the year-to-date net-buys to Bt47 billion.
To date, local institutional investors were the biggest net-sellers, though.
The stock market has risen over 20 per cent so far this year, being the top performer in Asia. However, the huge increases offer a big room for profit taking.
