Sansiri October presales Bt4.3 bn

Sansiri achieved presales of Bt4.3 billion in October for total presales worth Bt30.65 billion in the first 10 months.
The company plans to launch a new condominium project, The Base Height Mitraparp-Khonkaen, worth Bt2.1 billion by opening a roadshow, Sansiri Family Home Tour, in Khon Kaen this weekend.
This year’s presale target is Bt40 billion, company president Srettha Thavisin said.

Xayaboury Dam construction approved
The Laotian government has approved construction of the US$3.5-billion (Bt108-billion) Xayaboury Dam on the Mekong River despite environmental objections, a senior official said yesterday.
The hydroelectric project will be the first run-of-river dam to be built on the lower Mekong. Four dams have already been built on the upper Mekong in China.
The project has been criticised by environmentalists and Laos’ Southeast Asian neighbours for its possible impact on the flow of sediments downstream and fish migration.
Last December 8, members of the Mekong River Commission's council and water and environmental ministers from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam urged a delay to allow further environmental research. In response, the Laotian government and its chief partner in the project, Thailand's Ch Karnchang, agreed to spend an additional $100 million to revamp the design of a fish ladder and sediment-flow gates.

Scotch Industrial enters Laos market
Scotch Industrial (Thailand) is set to penetrate the Laotian market with all ranges of its health products, including Scotch Bird’s Nest, Essence of Chicken, Collagen and Puree.
Starting next month, all Scotch products will be available via appointment of the local distributor in Laos.
In Thailand, the company achieved 30-per-cent growth in the first nine months of this year. The overall chicken-essence market grew 20 per cent to about Bt6 billion in value in the period. Full-year growth is expected to come in at 25 per cent to Bt6.3 billion. Scotch has a 10-per-cent market share in the segment.
The overall bird’s-nest market in Thailand is also expected to grow by 10 per cent to Bt3.8 billion this year, while Scotch has a 50-per-cent market share in the segment. The company's Scotch Puree has 30 per cent of the local market for concentrated prune extracts, worth about Bt2.1 billion in total. – The Nation
