Tourism to be unaffected by Nov 24 protest

Thai AirAsia, the budget airline operator, is adamant that the planned anti-government protest on Nov 24 should not affect the Thai tourism industry.

Thai AirAsia Chief Executive Officer Tassapon Bijleveld said on Tuesday that if the protest sends no negative impact on the tourism industry, this would not shake tourists' confidence in Thailand.
The planned protest has been known for some time, he said.
A group of anti-government protesters, calling themself Pitak Siam, plans to gather at the Royal Plaza on November 24. It is led by Boonlert Kaewprasit, a retired general.
