True targets Bt10-bn revenue from corporates

 Songtham Phianpattanawit, executive director for enterprise/business and international services, said yesterday that the company would also more aggressively tap the upcountry small and medium enterprises market next year.

The estimate of more than Bt8 billion for this year does not include revenue from corporate customers in the education, property and government sectors, which would bring expected total revenue to nearly Bt10 billion, he said.

Next year, about Bt2 billion in revenue is expected to come from providing cellular services to corporate customers, up from Bt1.5 billion-Bt1.6 billion expected this year.

True’s enterprise/business customer unit, which provides total telecom solutions to the corporate market, underwent restructuring early this year by splitting teams to focus more on the government, property and educational institution industries.

All these teams will focus on selling bundled products from True’s telecom services. Earlier, this unit had focused mainly on two markets – large enterprises and SMEs.

It has some 170,000 corporate customers, of which 3,000 are large organisations and the rest SMEs. About 10,000 are located upcountry, where there is still ample demand for True’s overall ICT services.

True is continuing to expand its telecom networks and services to cover more provinces. SMEs are preparing to deploy ICT solutions to strengthen their competitiveness in response to the Asean Economic Community coming up in 2015.

The enterprise/business unit is also interested in applying for many telecom and related business licences in Myanmar whenever that emerging country opens up the industry.

The company is studying business opportunities in Myanmar, he added.

True’s businesses range from pay-TV to cellular, broadband Internet, data network and telephone services.
