DKSH to distribute Shell lubricants in Myanmar

DKSH Business Unit Consumer Goods has recently expanded its partnership with Shell Lubricants (Shell) into Myanmar, to provide marketing, sales, distribution, merchandising, logistics and back office services to support Shell's market entry into Myanmar's

For several years, DKSH has already been collaborating with Shell in the premium lubricant products market in Thailand.
"With the lifting of sanctions by the EU and the USA, Myanmar is a very promising market with significant opportunities and will contribute to the growth of South East Asia. Shell and DKSH have been in a partnership since 2010, and we are very much looking forward to this important expansion of our collaboration in Myanmar where we foresee similar success," said Somboon Prasitjutrakul, Head Business Unit Consumer Goods.
The collaboration in Myanmar represents the beginning of a new partnership for a highly promising market with significant opportunities due to the changes of macroeconomic factors, after the unveiling of the government’s overage car import substitution plan in late 2012. The car import market is highly attractive as the estimated increase in demand for vehicles and motor bikes is expected to result in an uplift of demand for engine oils and lubricants as well.
The extended agreement between DKSH and Shell in Myanmar demonstrates DKSH’s ability to roll-out success stories from one country to another. This new partnership will further strengthen DKSH’s market position in Myanmar while contributing incrementally.
