The three 2.1 gigahertz licence holders have to wait for the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) telecom committee to approve their proposed standard service contracts first before they can launch the official service, said a co

The telecom committee is scheduled to reconsider their proposed contracts on April 29. The committee chairman Settapong Malisuwan said the committee considered their contracts yesterday but had yet to approve them.
The three licence holders are Advanced Wireless Network (AWN) of Advanced Info Service, DTAC Network of Total Access Communication, and Real Future of True Corp. All of them plan to kick off the service early next month.
The committee needs more time to consider some details in the contracts, such as the specific time the customers can be inactive before their service will be terminated.
DTAC Network and Real future had submitted to the committee they need 30 days to revoke the services, while AWN did not indicate a specific period of time.
Meanwhile, the committee plans to issue within the next two months the standard service contract format for all three. Currently, existing telecom operators have to propose their own versions for its consideration once they start launching the service.
