Meeting with exporters on April 26

Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom calls for a discussion with exporters on April 26, in light of sharp appreciation in the Thai baht against US dollar.
Of total export value, over 80 per cent is denominated in US dollar. The baht has so far this year appreciated by about 6 per cent against the greenback.
Boonsong said that he wanted to hear opinions from the private sector, to reassess the condition.
The ministry still maintains the export growth target at 8-9 per cent.
"The ministry has a few tools to boost export - mainly through marketing promotion. We want to hear what kind of assistance the exporters anticipate," he said.
