At a public seminar on "How to invest Bt2 trillion transparently and efficiently" by Thailand Development Research Institute on Friday, the minister reiterated that the investment would lower the country's logistics cost, boost the economic growth and create more jobs. He also believed that it would boost the country's competitiveness in term of infrastructure, which is now the 49th of the world.
He expressed readiness for inspection from all parties and promised to come up with the most appropriate median prices.
Sumet Ongkittikul, TDRI senior researcher, voiced his support to the investment, particularly the rail network which has not been improved for a long period. However, he suggested the government spend more time studying on the viability of the high-speed train projects.
The researcher also stressed the need for dissemination of information involved.
