The subsidiary has paid-up capital of US$100,000 (Bt3 million).
Yuta Ikeda, president of Mobile Innovation Thailand, is chairman of Mobile Innovation (Vietnam).
The Thai unit specialises in a real-time fleet tracking and management under the name Fleet Expert.
Transport
The subsidiary in Vietnam will provide the service to that country’s growing transport businesses.
Among the potential customers are Japanese companies in logistics and automotive industries.
In July, Vietnam will mandate that a certified GPS black box be installed in buses and trucks.
The monthly Fleet Expert service fee will be around Bt650 per vehicle and the dedicated terminal sets will cost about Bt20,000-Bt25,000 each. The company aims to sell 1,000 terminal sets by the end of next year.
Mobile Innovation’s GPS fleet-management service enables customers to unify the management of all data, such as vehicles’ location data provided by GPS, using Mobile Innovation’s server. Customers can know the location of their vehicles on a real-time basis.
SMS
Another major service is two-way SMS communication for safety confirmation. At a time of crisis, the customer can contact all of its staff for confirmation of safety and can receive their replies on a real-time basis.
The company’s SMS broadcasting service targets 10 corporate customers in Vietnam this year. The concept was developed for the Japanese market by NTT Docomo.
In Thailand, this service was launched last year and some big companies with staff numbering in the thousands are using it.
