Removal from FATF grey list expected in June

The Financial Action Task Force on money laundering or FATF is expected to lift Thailand from the grey list, said government spokesman Theerat Rattanasewee.

He said that Thailand has submitted amendments to the rules and regulations, which are considered too lenient in preventing money laundering.
Yet, he noted, Thailand is yet to work harder in terms of raising awareness on money laundering.
Being on the grey list indicates some difficulties in transactions between Thailand and other FATF country members.
