Successful roadshow in Europe

Over 300 meetings were held during the roadshow in Europe, hosted by the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) together with ACL Securities and BNP Paribas Thailand.

The "SET & BNP EU/UK Roadshow 2013" during June 17-21 covered Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Scotland, and England).
Chainitr Charnchainarong, Executive Vice President and Head of the Issuer & Listing Division, said "SET & BNP EU/UK Roadshow 2013 was highly successful. Over 100 institutional investors in six countries directly met executives of Thai listed firms from six sectors to discuss insights and investment opportunities. The very high number of meetings showed the increasing interest of foreign investors in the Thai capital market. Held during a volatile global market situation, this was a good opportunity for companies to present their latest business updates to assure foreign investors of their strong business potential as well as the growth prospects of the Thai economy. Foreign investors also saw Thailand's attractiveness as a portal to promote business growth in the Greater Mekong Subregion."
To Richard Markarian, managing director of ACL Securities, European investors showed their interest in discussing in-depth business insights and strategies with executives of Thai listed companies that could help them recognise the potential of the firms, especially during a volatile global capital market.
Naris Cheyklin, senior executive vice president of Central Pattana (CPN), said the expansion of domestic and regional consumption, the growth of trade and the economy, together with the role of Thailand as an economic center for ASEAN, attracted foreign investors to discuss the company's expansion and strategies to grow with the rapid economic changes."
Joining the roadshow were Asia Aviation pcl (AAV), Advanced Info Service pcl (ADVANC), Amata Corporation (AMATA), Bangkok Bank (BBL), Central Pattana (CPN), Erawan Group (ERW), Shin Corporation (INTUCH), Khon Kaen Sugar Industry (KSL), Krung Thai Bank (KTB), PTT, PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP), Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding (RATCH), and Ticon Industrial Connection (TICON). These firms have a combined market capitalisation of Bt3.59 trillion (approximately US$119.67 billion), representing 30 percent of the total market value as of June 21, 2013.
