"Borrowing bill constitutional": Phongthep

Deputy Prime Minister Phongthep Thepkanchana insisted that the Bt2 trillion borrowing bill does not violate the Constitution.

Referring to the concern of the Law Reform Commission's concern on the constitutionality, he said that the borrowing is not counted as national proceeds. Plus, many preceding governments had secured similar loans.
He also insisted that the bill would not limit MPs' power in investigating included projects. MPs still can comment and ask questions, and even to file a no-confidence motion.
