PTT halts supply to gas distributor

PTT has imposed preliminary punitive measures on Citi Service and Solutions, its cooking-gas retail distributor, after police alleged the company distributed cooking gas to the transport sector.

According to PTT executive vice president Attapol Reurkpiboon, his company has stopped providing gas to Citi for one month and will lower its supply to the firm in the following months.
Police this week apprehended a Citi Service liquefied-petroleum-gas delivery truck, which they say received gas from a PTT terminal, then transported it to LPG retail stations and some factories in Chon Buri, instead of putting it into cooking-gas tanks, according to Pol General Worapong Chewpreecha, deputy National Police chief.
The company purchases 1.9 million kilograms of gas from PTT per month out of the monthly quota of 2.246 million kilos per month granted by the Energy Business Department.
