The statement followed the Finance Ministry's decision to set up a committee to investigate Supa Piyajitti, deputy permanent secretary. The sub-committee on the rice-pledging scheme, chaired by Supa, earlier revealed that the scheme could produce loss of over Bt130 billion in the 2012/2013 harvest year. The data was revealed during her testimony to the Senate Committee.
Supa was later removed from the sub-committee and was re-appointed to the post after public criticisms.
Boonchai Chokwatana, chairman of the committee, said that the Senate Committee will keep its eyes on the government's next move.
