Gold price recovers from big slump

Domestic gold prices today went up by Bt200 net per baht weight, following the big gain in global prices.

The domestic price was raised by Bt300 per baht weight in the early morning today. At the end of the day, gold bar is now sold at Bt18,550 while gold ornament at Bt18,950.
In New York, gold climbed to the highest in almost a week as a bigger-than-estimated increase in China's inflation and lower prices spurred demand for the metal.
The precious metal price slid 26 per cent this year due to the US Federal Reserve's upcoming exit from the quantitative easing.
Spot prices today ranged between US$1,250-$1,258 an ounce.
