TRC Construction expects its second-half earnings to outstrip first-half income by winning big state infrastructure and private construction projects.

“In the latter half of this year, TRC and its subsidiaries will bid for large-scale projects. This October, the company will tender for the construction of Phase 2 of Bangchak Petroleum’s Bt1-billion biodiesel plant,” chief executive officer Samai Leesakul said yesterday.
Another mega-project coming up is a US$260-million (Bt8.1 billion) gas pipeline for PTT.
In the current half, TRC’s subsidiary Oman TRC Engineering, in collaboration with its Thai petrochemical partner, will bid for a project and is expected to make a recovery this year.
Another TRC subsidiary, Sahakarn Wisavakorn Co is bidding on state infrastructure and private construction projects.
TRC will set up a subsidiary called TRC Renewable Energy Co to construct and operate a compressed-biomethane-gas plant to supply PTT. The plant is expected to commence commercial operations in the fourth quarter of next year. It is part of TRC’s diversification into the energy business.
In the second quarter, TRC recorded revenue of Bt589.77 million. Its net profit rose 69 per cent quarter on quarter to Bt16.58 million.
In the first half, the company earned Bt26.52 million on revenue of Bt1.23 billion.
