Thai Polycons after 30% of construction jobs

Thai Polycons aims to win at least 30 per cent of construction projects worth Bt8 billion that will come up for bidding as part of its plan to boost its project backlog to Bt4 billion by year-end from Bt2.93 billion now.

Managing director Chainarong Chanpalangsri said yesterday that the company would chase after both private- and public-sector jobs, including commercial buildings and residential projects.
For its diversification into the energy business, it plans to develop a biofuel plant producing 100 megawatts within three years and 150MW within five years.
The company is also studying a manufacturing plant and hydropower plant in Laos that will produce 80-100MW. The deal may be finalised next year.
Another plan under consideration is developing residential projects for sale next year.
The business plan envisages maintaining average growth at 10 per cent a year, Chainarong said.
The company earned Bt18.4 million on revenue of Bt1.44 billion in the first half of this year, up 100 per cent and 16 per cent from the same half last year.
