Diamond mulls output base in Myanmar or Cambodia

Diamond Building Products, a manufacturer and distributor of roof and laminated flooring, is exploring the possibility of building a manufacturing plant in Myanmar or Cambodia before the Asean Economic Community comes into effect in 2015.

The company’s deputy managing director for sales and marketing, Satit Sudbantad, said the company is interested in manufacturing roofs in Myanmar or Cambodia so as to boost export value to 14 per cent of its total revenue in year 2015 from 10 per cent now.
The company is also focusing on Asean countries to expand its export markets. It is targeting exports to Cambodia and Laos to comprise about 70 per cent of its total export value, he said.
To boost exports to the two countries, Satit said the company will join hands with local distributors to launch a marketing campaign that will focus on local buyers and also architects to recommend its products to customers.
The company is maintaining its growth target of 10 per cent this year after recording total revenue of Bt2.28 billion and net profit of Bt293.15 million in the first half of this year.
