Temporary shutdown of 17 factories in Amata Nakorn

Amata Corporation, the operator of Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate in Chon Buri, is quickly pumping out water from Phase 7, after 17 factories temporarily shut down operations due to the flood.

Viboon Kromadit, chief marketing officer of the company, said that the situation improved today, as the water level retreated by 15-20cm. In some areas of the road in Phase 7, the water level remains as high as 30-35cm.
He said that the 17 factories temporarily shut down the operations as the surrounding road is flooded, blocking the entry of workers. He insisted that the flood has not yet reached the factories.
He is optimistic that the water level would be only 5cm tomorrow, if there is no more rain. He is confident that the 17 factories would then restart the operations.
The water is being pumped out with help from the Industry Ministry, Chon Buri's administration and the Navy. Over 100 water pumps are being used, along with over 500 giant sandbags.
