AIA Thailand yesterday announced it was tapping into the world of social networking with the launch of its first official presence on the popular social application Line.

Dubbed “AIATHAILAND”, the account gives users of Line access to information and updates from the life insurer on their smartphones and tablets.
“With the ever-growing trend of social networking in Thailand, especially on social and chat applications including Facebook, Twitter and Line – the last of which has reportedly enjoyed some 18 million subscribers in the country – we are now ready to introduce our very first official account to all Line users in Thailand,” said Saloon Tham, chief executive officer of AIA Thailand.
“AIATHAILAND provides an additional channel where users can learn about AIA insurance products, services and promotional campaigns. In order to keep subscribers of the account enthusiastic and engaged, we have a number of fun activities with prizes up for grabs in the pipeline.”
To celebrate the launch of AIATHAILAND, a set of 16 chat stickers based on the character of renowned actor and AIA presenter Nadech Kugimiya is available for free download from  today to November 20.
“We have chosen Nadech Kugimiya as he is our presenter and a very popular role model for Thais,” Tham said. “He is very natural and his personality is magnetic, making it more appealing in turning him into cartoon characters. We believe that Line users in Thailand will be excited and enthusiastic to download the stickers, regardless whether they are AIA customers.”
AIA expects about 2 million downloads of its Line stickers within one month after the launch.
