Actor partners with AIS to offer 'James' Life' app

One Nine James, a company held by actor Jirayu "James" Tangsrisuk, has partnered with Advanced Info Service to sell mobile content applications on a 50:50 basis.

“This is my first business, which gives me opportunities from my popularity base,” the rising star said yesterday.
The company was set up with registered capital of Bt500,000 to join with AIS on developing new content.
It costs Bt29 to download “AIS James’ Life”, which includes photo frames, videos and stickers for Line, Whatsapp, We Chat and Facebook.
More than 100,000 downloads are expected by year-end from AIS users. AIS has about 40 million subscribers, of whom 12 million are use its 2.1-gigahertz third-generation service.
James is AIS’s sole brand ambassador.
Titipong Khiewpaisal, senior vice president for marketing at AIS, said the company expects to join with other celebrities to adopt similar or different business models to seek more revenue from data services. Data services account for 25 per cent of AIS’s total revenue.
“We may reach 15 million 3G users by the end of this year, up from the original target of 12 million users,” he said.
About 6 million of the 12 million 3G users have migrated from AIS’s 2G services and 3 million are post-paid users.
