Finance ready for immediate investment

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong said Thursday the government is ready to start the investment under the Bt2 trillion infrastructure scheme, immediately after the borrowing bill is passed.

The construction of 41 customs checkpoints is among the first which could be open for bidding, he said.
The expansion of highways from two lanes to four lanes could also be kicked off immediately, he added.
The bidding of all double-track rail projects, except the Chiang Mai-Chiang Khong route, can also be called immediately.
The bill is waiting for the Senate's approval.
