Poor outlook of EPS growth

Asia Plus Securities is prepared to review listed companies' earning growth forecast this year, given political pressure as well as poorer-than-expected third quarter financial results.

Porranee Thongyen, research manager of the securities company, said that the earning growth forecast is lowered, it would be the third downward revision by the house this year.
The earning per share (EPS) growth could be lowered from 15 per cent to 10-12 per cent. In 2014, the EPS growth is forecast could also be lowered to 10-12 per cent, down from 12 per cent.
"We haven't yet concluded the revision, but the EPS growth tends to decline," she said.
Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) expected political conflicts to further pressure the SET index throughout this month. Yet, if street protests are not stepped up from now, the situation should improve soon.
The National Economic and Social Development Board will tomorrow reveal the third-quarter economic indicators.
The index ended last week at 1,420.66 points.
