The Sukhumvit facility gives the company the ability to hire 50 resources in the coming six months and take advantage of multiple market opportunities throughout the region, CEO Ian McCrae said yesterday.
The new hires will work on further developing the company’s globally recognised hospital information system in collaboration with its flagship partner in Bangkok, Bumrungrad International.
Bumrungrad International is an internationally accredited, multi-specialty hospital located in the heart of Bangkok. Founded in 1980, today it is the largest private hospital in Southeast Asia with 538 beds and over 30 specialty centres. It offers state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic and intensive care facilities in a one-stop medical centre.
Bumrungrad serves over a million patients annually. Over 520,000 are internationals. They include thousands of expatriates living in Bangkok and nearby countries, plus visitors from 200 countries around the world who come here for treatment. English is widely spoken.
The hospital has a medical coordination office staffed by doctors, nurses and interpreters who serve the special needs of international patients.
Orion Health’s hospital information system provides Bumrungrad with an enterprise platform to run and manage its daily operations. The system is integral to how patients are managed and clinical care is delivered.
The platform has helped Bumrungrad become a world leader in healthcare delivery, enabling many benefits including significant reductions in patient waiting times, laboratory and radiology processing times and the time it takes for caregivers to view and update a patient’s real-time medical record.
