Thongma Vijitpongpun of Pruksa Real Estate has been named as the best chief executive officer for a SET-listed company and Viroj Pornprakit of Jubilee Enterprise the same for an MAI-listed company.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand and Money & Banking magazine revealed the winners of the Best CEO awards on Wednesday.
Deputy Prime Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong presided over the ceremony and presented trophies to the 42 companies that claimed all 51 awards at the 10th anniversary of the awards.
SET president Charamporn Jotikasthira said the two winners of Best CEO of the SET and MAI (Market for Alternative Investment) were superb executives with outstanding profiles and superior strategies. They have led their companies to become industry leaders, with promising growth in sales and market capitalisation since they listed.
Their sustained development also reflects their vision to operate with good corporate governance and benefits to society, he said.
This year is also special, as there are 18 companies receiving SET Awards of Honour, which are given only to those maintaining their prominence in a given area for three or more straight years.
The recipients of SET Awards of Honour for outstanding achievements for six straight years are Kasikornbank in corporate governance reports, Siam Cement in corporate social responsibility and Bangchak Petroleum in both areas.
