GPF Secretary General Sombat Narawuttichai said in a statement released today that the board made the decision at the February 17 meeting. The board said the fund would not lend to the scheme or buy the bonds. The fund has also accummulated the sufficient amount of long-term assets.
The statement was issued to counter a social media rumour that the fund would lend to rice millers, to indirectly help the scheme.
The fund manages savings of government officials, worth over Bt400 billion.
