The deal was made in order to leverage the financial and global marketing resources of the ThaiBev Group to support the expansion of the ‘est’ brand in the international market. manufacturing and distribution fees as the volume grows. 
Sermsuk is also ThaiBev’s subsidiary under its Non Alcohol Beverage Business Group. The company was acquired by ThaiBev in September 2011. 
The company has appointed Grant Thornton Services Limited as the independent financial adviser. 
 
Carabao plans IPO
A leading energy-drink company Carabao Group (CBG) will make an initial public offering (IPO) after receiving approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The funds from the IPO will be used for debt repayment and reserve for capital to expand in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. According to CBG’s filing, it will float up to 250 million shares, of which 150 million shares are capital-increase ordinary shares and the rest are ordinary shares.
 
Bangkok Internet Exchange Point to help development of interconnectivity
The Internet Society has signed a memorandum of understanding with Alcatel-Lucent to provide equipment in support of the development of the Bangkok Internet Exchange Point (BKNIX) through the society’s Interconnection and Traffic Exchange Programme. 
BKNIX, which will be operational in December, is expected to dramatically increase Internet capacity, encourage greater efficiency in local Internet traffic routing, create a more robust Internet infrastructure, and improve quality of service for Southeast Asia. 
It will drive significant social and economic value to the region by providing a neutral community IXP, powered by Alcatel-Lucent’s 7750 service router. 
“The establishment of a neutral IXP in Bangkok will do much to improve interconnectivity within Thailand as well as in the region … This is all the more timely as we approach 2015 and the start of Asean integration, as Thailand is a key economy in the region, and a key player in Asean,” said Rajnesh Singh, head of the Internet Society’s Asia-Pacific Bureau. 
 
South Korea’s credit guarantee experts share knowledge with SMEs
The Thai Credit Guarantee Corp (TCGC) and the Software Industry Promotion Agency have joined forces to support SMEs in creative technology and the software-innovation sector by inviting experts from Korea Technology Finance Corp (Kotec), an international credit-guarantee institution from South Korea, to impart their knowledge at a seminar this week.
The two-day “Access to Funding of Technology and Software Entrepreneurs: Experience Sharing” seminar ends today at the Sofitel SO Bangkok Hotel. 
TCGC president Vallobh Tejapaibul said the seminar formed part of efforts to transfer knowledge and understanding about the benefits of credit guarantees to SMEs, as it was an increasingly important issue for Thai economic development. 
Kotec, which was founded by the Korean government as a non-profit credit-guarantee institution, has a mission to provide full-scale support to SMEs and venture businesses with competitive technology, innovation and other knowledge-based business content at all growth stages. 
Its overriding goal is to take the lead in converting the South Korean economy into a more creative and innovative economy.
 
True Internet, Visor launch new marketing tool ‘Intelligence Mail’

KLeasing banks on Motor Expo to boost business of hire purchases 
“Motor Expo 2014”, which will be held next month, could help sustain hire-purchase business, said Surat Leelataviwat, acting managing director of Kasikorn Leasing (KLeasing).
The company still believes that its outstanding-loan growth this year will not drop, as the show – from November 29-December 10 – will help shore up auto sales and hire-purchase business, he said.
KLeasing is a financial partner of the event, at which it will offer special programmes in a bid to boost purchasing power in the closing weeks of the year, he added.
