Group inks deal to brand, run posh Iconsiam residences

MANDARIN Oriental Hotel Group yesterday signed an agreement with The Iconsiam Superlux Residence Corp to brand and manage 146 super-luxurious waterfront residences at Iconsiam, the new Bt50-billion riverside landmark that is being developed by a joint-ven

The properties are the first Mandarin Oriental-branded residences in Southeast Asia, and are situated diagonally across the Chao Phraya River from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Bangkok.
To be called The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, the super-luxury, freehold condominiums will be in a 52-floor building that is being built at a cost of Bt7 billion. 
The building is located on the 50-rai (8 hectares) Iconsiam site that also includes another luxurious residential building of 70 storeys, called the Magnolia Waterfront Residences, two of the world’s most glamorous retail complexes, as well as seven attractions that will be the first of their kind in Thailand, including a spectacular waterfront promenade. 
Tipaporn Chearavanont, director and CEO of The Iconsiam Superlux Residence Corp, said on Tuesday: “Iconsiam is the most sensational development that has ever been undertaken in Thailand and it will be a destination of global fame. Thanawan Chaiwatana, managing director of The Iconsiam Superlux Residence Corp, said the residences would be ready for occupancy in 2018. 
The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is being launched globally and aims to “lift the bar on the quality of homes that residents and investors can expect in Bangkok”, he said. He added that the availability of super-luxury homes would reinforce Bangkok’s position as a hub city in the Asean Economic Community, that will come into effect next year and which is expected to fuel demand for world-class homes in Bangkok by global businessmen doing business with Asia.
Sales for The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok will commence in the first half of next year.
