The Stock Exchange of Thailand is marking the 10th anniversary of “SET in the City”, the biggest investment fair in Bangkok, from November 20-23 under the concept of “The year of investment to change your life forever”.
The four-day event will be full of seminars, workshops and meetings joined by more than 100 leading financial firms to share investment expertise on equities, gold futures, mutual funds and insurance for investors and prospects, SET president Kesara Manchusree said.
Throughout the past 10 years, the capital market has proved its strong growth in several dimensions, such as the fourfold increase of investor accounts to more than a million this year and the fivefold surge of average daily trading to Bt39.47 billion.
Market capitalisation has also soared to Bt13.9 trillion from Bt4.5 trillion, while mutual-fund unit holders rose to 4 million accounts from fewer than 700,000 in the past 10 years, with net asset value of Bt3.8 trillion at present.
