After a meeting between the Commerce Ministry, the Board of Trade of Thailand and the Federation of Thai Industries yesterday, Deputy Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn said the government would closely work with the private sector to promote Thai goods and services in each market.
Apiradi said the campaign would be launched worldwide next year in an attempt to get more people to trust the country’s goods and services, including its food and wellness and hospitality services.
Under the plan, the ministry and the two private organisations agreed that Thailand’s shipments should be able to achieve 4-per-cent growth in 2015.
FTI chairman Supant Mongkolsuthee said two sub-working committees had been set up to support exports next year.
One panel has been charged with promoting products for particular markets and another panel aims to solve export problems.
Board of Trade chairman Isara Vongkusolkit said the government and private sector had joined hands to support value-chain development, focusing on agricultural products such as rice and rubber so that farmers made more money.
