THE BUSINESS Development Department has targeted getting about 100 One Tambon One Product producers to trade online to tap the growing e-commerce business.
Pongpun Gearaviriyapun, director-general of the department, said the aim was for producers to boost their market base to cities and overseas.
Under the plan, the depart-|ment will send teams of experts |to train producers in each pro-|vince in a bid to improve their |packaging and ultimately their product image, as well as main-|tain product quality and develop marketing channels to trade |online and serve Asean nations seamlessly.
The department will hold eight workshops in each province.
The development plan is centred on image, cleanliness, clearness, and convenience.
Training in all regions
The training programme has been separated into the following areas: upper North and lower North regions, the Central and upper Central regions, the upper northeastern and lower northeastern regions, the upper South and lower South regions.
Pongpun said e-commerce business was growing by 20 per cent a year as more people surf the Internet and as result more companies should focus on electronic trading for the domestic and overseas markets.
