TETRA Pak, a leading food processing and packaging company, yesterday announced the inauguration of its latest technical training centre in Rayong.

The centre has been established to support the increasing demand for packaging-line technical training from food and beverage producers across Asia. Tetra Pak has invested more than 5 million euros (Bt200 million) in establishing a new 3,000-square-metre state-of-the-art facility at the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Rayong.
“Tetra Pak has been in business in Thailand for almost 40 years and we have strong confidence in the country’s growth potential,” said Michael Zacka, president of Tetra Pak Asia. “Today, Thailand is one of the biggest markets in the region. Investing in this training facility here conveys our strong commitment to supporting our customers to meet growing consumer demand.”
Peter Mott, vice president of Tetra Pak Technical Service Asia, said: “Our certified instructors from the Tetra Pak global training organisation will help secure the competence for our customers’ technicians and staff overseeing the operational performance and efficiencies of their food-packaging lines.
“With a broad range of courses for dairy and beverage producers combined with its accessible location in Thailand, this training centre provides customers across the region excellent support to help them achieve quality, cost and operational performance excellence.”
A certified global training centre, Tetra Pak Technical Training Centre Rayong provides courses and competence-development programmes in the areas of automation, filling line equipment, quality assurance and food safety. The facility features three full packaging lines – Tetra Pak A3/Speed, Tetra Pak A3/CompactFlex and Tetra Pak A3/Flex – as well as advanced microbiological and package evaluation labs.
By offering the full spectrum of Tetra Pak Training Services and the ability to deliver 10,000 training days, the training centre aims to provide customers in the region both convenience and travel-related cost savings.
To ensure quality, dedicated attention and an effective learning environment, classes at this technical training centre will be kept to a maximum of 10 students. Instructors are mainly specialist engineers from Tetra Pak’s Asia region with support available from the Tetra Pak global training organisation based in Lund, Sweden.
